A-Plus® Plasterbond is a concrete add-mix (slow setting) that serves as a multipurpose plastering and bonding aid, concrete repair, as well as a tile adhesive. It improves both the application and end-properties of concrete by enhancing its flow properties during application stage and overall concrete tensile-flexural-compressive strength, allowing concrete mix to be easily applied on the substrate without pre-mature gelling and setting. This product is best used at on-site concrete mixing and mechanical works.
☑Repair Heavily Damaged Concrete Surfaces ☑Superior Plastering and Bonding Aid ☑Can be used as a Tile Adhesive ☑Prevention of Premature Gelling/Setting of Concrete ☑Enhancement of Concrete-Mix Flow ☑Maximizing Overall Tensile-Flexural-Compressive Strength
General Instructions:
- Prepare slurry by mixing powder/solid components first then slowly add A-Plus® Plasterbond while mixing. If necessary, add small amounts of water to control consistency.
- Clean the substrate free of loose contaminants. Pre-wet surface with water to improve adhesion of slurry.
- Apply the slurry on the substrate using the appropriate tool(trowel, heavy brush, etc.) For tile adhesive slurry, a notched trowel is highly recommended.
- Follow the correct mixing ratios to maximize product performance.
As Plastering Aid (for creating concrete mix with enhanced strength, durability and water resistance):
- Mixing ratio: 1L A-Plus® Plasterbond : 20kg Cement : 60kg Sand : 6L Water
- Mix well to a lump-free slurry before application.
- Dampen the concrete surface first before applying the slurry. Apply the slurry using a trowel.
As Plastering Aid (for repairing non-structural cracks and imperfections):
- Mixing ratio: 1L A-Plus® Plasterbond : 3kg Cement
- Mix well to a lump-free slurry before application.
- Dampen the concrete surface first before applying the slurry. Apply the slurry using a trowel.
As Bonding Aid (to improve adhesion of new concrete topping to old/existing concrete):
- Mixing ratio: 1L A-Plus® Plasterbond : 5kg Cement : 1L Water
- Mix well to a lump-free slurry before application.
- Dampen the concrete surface first before applying the slurry.
- Apply a thin coat of the slurry using a thick brush or roller. Apply the new concrete topping while the bonding aid is still tacky.
As Tile Adhesive:
- Mixing ratio: 1L A-Plus® Plasterbond : 8kg Cement : 8kg Sand : 3L Water
- Mix well to a lump-free slurry before application.
- Dampen the substrate first before applying the slurry. Apply the mixture using a trowel with a thickness of about 3mm or more depending on the type of substrate and tile used. A notched trowel is highly recommended.
- Lay down and align tiles. Open time is about 20 minutes. Wipe off excess adhesive mixture with a wet cloth until clean.
- Allow at least 24 hours curing time before applying tile grout. Allow at least another 24 hours before subjecting to normal traffic.
As Tile Adhesive (Tile-on-Tile installation):
- Prior to application of the tile adhesive slurry, apply a thin coat of bonding aid slurry over the existing tiles. Allow to dry for at least an hour then follow the above procedure for application of the tile adhesive slurry.
Principal Uses: Used for maximizing the overall tensile-flexural-compressive strength of concrete, enhancing concrete-mix flow, and repairing damaged concrete. Can also be used as a plastering and bonding aid as well as a tile adhesive.
